第36回(2012年)オリヴィエ賞(Olivier Awards)授賞式が、現地時間3月15日18時よりRoyal Opera Houseで開催されました。
司会はマイケル・ボール(Michael Ball)とイメルダ・スタウントン(Imelda Staunton)

ミュージカル部門では、ロアルド・ダールの小説「Matilda」(マチルダは小さな大天才)を原作に、
ミュージシャンであり俳優、コメディアンでもあるティム・ミンチン(Tim Minchin)が作詞作曲、ロイヤル・シェークスピア・カンパニー(RSC)が上演した
「Matilda, the Musical」(マチルダ・ザ・ミュージカル)が、10部門と最多部門でノミネートされ、
見事に新作ミュージカル賞、演出賞、振付賞など7部門を制覇。
マチルダ役を演じた4人の女の子たちも揃って主演女優賞を受賞しました。
